Overview
Sudoku · INK ("the App", "we", "our") is a puzzle game developed by Yasser Farag. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information is collected when you use the App, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.
The App does not require you to create an account. No name, email address, or password is ever collected by us directly.
Information Collected
The App uses third-party SDKs that collect data automatically to support analytics, crash reporting, and advertising. We do not sell this data.
- Device identifiers — including the Advertising Identifier (IDFA on iOS / GAID on Android), used for personalized ads. Collection of IDFA on iOS requires your explicit consent via the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt.
- Usage analytics — puzzle starts, completions, hints used, difficulty, and variant selections. Collected via Firebase Analytics to help us understand how the App is used.
- Crash reports — stack traces and device information collected via Firebase Crashlytics to help us fix bugs.
- Approximate location — country/region inferred from IP address by Firebase for analytics segmentation. Precise GPS location is never collected.
- App settings changes — toggle names and values (e.g., "haptics: on") recorded as analytics events. No user-identifying context is attached.
All data listed above is collected by the SDKs below on their own infrastructure; it passes through our systems only in aggregated, anonymised form.
Data Stored on Your Device
The following is stored locally on your device only and never transmitted to our servers:
- Game progress and saved puzzle state
- Personal statistics (puzzles played, won, best times, streaks)
- App settings and preferences
- Hint token balance
You can clear all locally stored data by uninstalling the App.
Third-Party Services
The App integrates the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Google AdMob — serves advertisements. AdMob may use your Advertising Identifier to show personalised ads. You can opt out via your device privacy settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; Android: Settings → Google → Ads).
- Firebase Analytics — collects anonymised usage events.
- Firebase Crashlytics — collects crash reports and device diagnostics.
- Firebase Remote Config — delivers app configuration (e.g., contact email). No personal data is sent.
Advertising & Consent
The App shows ads via Google AdMob. On first launch:
- iOS: We request App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission. If you decline, ads are shown in non-personalised mode and your IDFA is not used.
- EEA / UK users: A consent form (Google UMP SDK) is displayed before any ad SDK initialises. You may accept or decline personalised advertising. Your choice is stored and honoured for future sessions.
You may change your choice at any time through your device settings or by contacting us.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, UK, or California, you may have additional rights, including:
- The right to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you
- The right to object to or restrict processing
- The right to data portability
- The right to withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect prior lawful processing)
Because we do not directly store personally identifiable information, most data requests must be directed to the third-party SDKs listed above. We will assist where possible — contact us below.
Data Retention
Firebase Analytics data is retained for 14 months (default Google setting). Crashlytics reports are retained for 90 days. We do not retain any other personal data on our own servers.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the App evolves or regulations change. Significant changes will be reflected in an updated effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
